Symetrics participates at the Thalia Project to develop robotic systems for custom applications. During the project we will develop robots that will carry different sensors for a wide range of applications. The complete system will be made in Cyprus and can be exported, upon receiving export licences, worldwide. “THALIA 2021-2027” constitutes a multi-annual, multi-fund development Programme that was drawn up in accordance to the Article 22 of the Regulation (EU) 2021/1060 (Common Provisions Regulation – CPR), outlining the development strategy for the utilization of the resources allocated to Cyprus through the Cohesion Policy Funds, for the period 2021-2027
Symetrics participates at the SAGA, a COST funded project. The ‘Soil science & Archaeo-Geophysics Alliance: going beyond prospection’ (SAGA) is a new interdisciplinary network of scientists. During the next four years SAGA will develop, promote and facilitate research activities bringing together archaeo-geophysics and soil science with the overall goal of maximizing interpretation of proxy data for archaeological purposes.
The network and related activities are funded by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) and the grant is administrated by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). SAGA is coordinated by a Management Committee (MC) currently composed of 87 experts from 34 countries and integrates experts working in industry, management and academia.
Symetrics participates as a committee member representing Cyprus at the COST action CA19145 " European Network for assuring food integrity using non-destructive spectral sensors".
The project will try to fill the needs of the food industry, to provide information on their products in order to satisfy quality standards and to protect their products from food fraud. Recent developments in technology, and advances in big data analytics, provide the opportunity for step-changes that can transform the role of food integrity assurance from one of just strictly conformance to one that addresses a wide range of business critical concerns, including quality, safety and authenticity solutions. Non-destructive Spectroscopic Sensors (NDSS), such as NIR Spectroscopy, Fluorescence, Raman or Hyperspectral imaging, enable rapid, non-destructive and environmentally-safe assessment of multiple parameters in a variety of food products.
